About StayPurr
Hi there. We’re the team behind StayPurr, but long before we ever started a business, we were dedicated rescue cat parents. We’ve been fostering and rehabilitating cats since 2011, and over those years we’ve learned a lot about feline behavior. Mostly, we learned it the hard way.
Our story
The real story of StayPurr starts with a little cat named Mimi. By the time we met her, she had bounced around several homes and was running out of time at the shelter. She was terrified, anxious, and to be completely honest, really hard to handle.
We brought her home and immediately ran into a wall. We desperately wanted to help her feel safe (and save our furniture in the process), so we bought just about every calming gadget, bed, and behavioral tool on the market.
Almost none of it worked. The beds were ignored, the scratch deterrents fell apart, and we found ourselves incredibly frustrated by how much money we were wasting on empty promises.
But we didn’t give up on her. We kept researching, kept testing, and eventually we found a handful of things that actually did exactly what they advertised. With time, patience, and the right environment, Mimi completely came out of her shell and turned into the sweetest, most affectionate companion.
Why we started StayPurr
Going through that journey made us realize how exhausting and expensive it is to find reliable solutions for anxious or rescue cats. We didn’t want anyone else to go through that same painful trial-and-error phase we did.
So we started StayPurr with a very simple rule: we only sell what has genuinely worked for us and our rescues.
We aren’t a massive corporate pet store with thousands of random items. Everything you see on our site has been heavily vetted.
